What a beautiful clean grocery store. Goodness we don’t have anything like this and I so wish they did. The olive bar would have been a treat for me!! Please continue to do neat little outings like this!
I'm always fascinated and impressed by the customs and traditions of the orthodox Jewish faith. Thanks for sharing them with all of us, Sonya!
A lovely tour with your peaceful narration... I have never seen such a clean and well stocked grocery store, nowhere never. You are blessed and so is your family! Thank you for taking us along 💯
As a Christian, I confess that I don't really know the rules of kosher prepping or eating. But boy, oh boy your kosher grocery store is absolutely wonderful! I am glad that you now have it near you 😊
@@srobs1216 You can Google them if you're curious..
My husband (deceased) and I are not Jewish. However, my husband tried to follow the rules for eating whenever possible. I would love to shop at that store. My husband and I were both allergic to pork and I am allergic to dairy and other food items. It would be such a blessing to shop at that store because of the selection.
What a beautiful, clean, organized, well lit & stocked grocery store. The selection of foods from fresh to 🥶 is huge! Wish I lived nearby.
We had a family with small children for Shabbat, I made a “plant dessert”. A child’s pail with shovel, filled with parve ice cream, topped with chocolate pudding and for the top, ground up chocolate cookies that looked like soil. I put gummy worms in the soil and plastic flowers sticking out. The kids loved it, especially using the shovel to get the ice cream.
How cute
It's typical to use Oreos for dirt, but a healthier version could use ground poppy seed or nuts.
Parve Ice Cream? How is that a thing? I mean I'm not orthodox or anything but still
@@razormc954 Cream being any fatty, white, emollient substance (hand cream for instance) ,and ice, well, the frozen version. Parve: anything non-dairy,non-meat ,kosher certified, such as eggs, nuts, fruit, veg , sometimes fish (not for Sephardic) . It can be a fake, corn syrupy, non dairy replacement, but most likely nowadays it's a vegan nut or grain based ice cream.
@ non dairy
I may not be Jewish but I’d shop there is a heart beat! The meat prices are a little in the higher side but so to the strict law around kosher meat; I am not surprised as it takes more to process the meat for selling.
Clean, well organized, well lite and you know it’s ethically checked. I was impressed with how clean and how good the food looked!
Many non- Jewish people love Bingo - especially the Italians, because the store is immaculate
@@Lego-vp3szYou can't get a higher approval for food items than Italians buying them 😄
I'm in Tennessee and am wishing Bingo would deliver to me!!! Thanks for the wonderful 'field trip' Sonya and everything you do for your sweet family!
An absolutely beautiful store. Can you imagine (you said this was new so probably you can) shopping for all these foods in the the "olden days"? Life is so much more complicated now, I'm grateful for stores like these! ❤
Your site popped up on youtube awhile ago and I watched it and enjoyed it very much. What drew me back to your site is the fact that your recipes don't start out with a can of cream of soup. Your recipes are fresh, healthy, and foods my family enjoys. I also enjoyed your pointers for cooking for busy times. I enjoy your video about the Orthodox Jewish Kosher Supermarket, which is so clean and well stocked. The produce section makes me happy! The dried fruits in glass jars is unique. I read a comment from a subscriber that mentioned the non-dairy isle for vegans. What a great idea! My family has dietary restrictions due to health and allergies. I would shop in this store if one was close to me. Thank you for a wonderful videos.
My pleasure, so happy you are enjoying
I worked for a Jewish family, and while they didn't keep kosher for everything, meat was always kosher, and I had the experience of shopping in a kosher butcher shop for them. I'd see Orthodox families in the neighborhood and stores. A whole store devoted to kosher foods and Jewish living was interesting to see.
I loved your little helper who was scanning all of the products!!! 💕😁
I think Bingo is more like a kosher Target! Thanks for showing us around.
My pleasure
been to Bingo in Brooklyn many times- it's close to where I grew up in Bay Ridge- so when I go back to visit (which used to be very often before my inlaws passed- we went all the time (and we aren't even Jewish) my MIL loved the fresh veggies and fruit we also use the large hotplates for parties- I bought three at a house sale many years ago- had no idea at the time what they were used for- but because they were so large I knew we would be able to use them for our large parties- saw them on your channel and now I know what they were used for- they are great
I'm going to start shopping at a kosher store just to buy pre checked Brussels sprouts. Totally worth it.
Sonya, Thank you for this video. I’m a Christian, and along with many, many others, were unaware that there are certain fruits and vegetables that harbor pests/bugs. That’s so GROSS!!! Your videos are a delight to watch, plus they are very informative. Your channel, along with, “frum it up,” are my go-to Jewish channels. Thanks again for your videos!
As an added bonus, I find your voice so calming, too!
You’re so kind. I’m glad you enjoy the channel!
I always wash my fruit and veggies in water with vinegar. The vinegar is excellent in getting rid of unwanted guests, soil particles and sand.
I am a Christian too but the reverence for the laws of God that the orthodox have are very impressive and inspirational.
I once had to clean broccoli harvested at a friend's garden. Soooo many green caterpillars! More caterpillars than broccoli! Left me slightly traumatised 😅
Sonya's voice is so calming and professional. The cadence is just right for all ages, no jibber-jabber going a mile a minute without taking a breath. This is a fascinating video tour of the Bingo store. Like others have said, I wish all grocery stores were as clean, bright, and well-stocked as this one. I like the fact that all items are shelved within easy reach, an important consideration for older shoppers.
I am so happy for you. Sonya!! The supermarket looks amazing and the food looks incredible!! I wish I could have one near me!!
I love seeing kosher grocery stores! Here near Baltimore, our Market Maven prices are very similar to yours, but the non-kosher stores aren’t far behind, especially fresh produce and meat. Closer to D.C., the prices are even higher. I love that you can grab an emergency tichel, baby things, etc. 🤗 Thanks, Sonya, and early Shabbat Shalom to all!
I loved the bet yosef meat on display! How lucky you are to have such a great selection of fresh meat to buy!
i think w have the same kind of store (super kosher friendly, layout and the hand scanner) here in israel, it's called - osher ad!
Osher Ad owns Bingo. That is why the logo is also so similar.
@@spareemail7694 omg really?? well whaddya know!! makes sense lmao
This video is so interesting, Sonya!
Thank you for taking the time to show us around! 💜
I am glad you enjoyed it.
so glad you showed us a grocery store that is kosher. now we can understand more of your culture. wished major chains would marked more products checked/unchecked on precut produce.
Previous ones were available on playlist
I've never seen such an extensive Kosher grocery store. The fact that everything is labeled and certified as Kosher even the gum. The prices do look a bit high especially the meat prices but that doesn't surprise me seeing as you get what you pay for. The Shabbat timers are great. The children's toys were so cute. Thank you for the inside tour its very impressive.
Kosher meat is, by its nature, expensive. The animal's health has to be checked, if the animal gives ANY indication of having experienced pain during its slaughter, it can't be used, the lungs have to be checked for disease, certain cuts of meat can't be used, and the meat has to be "koshered," i.e. salted to remove blood, then rinsed. It's a much more complex process than that used for non-kosher meat.
@HotVoodooWitch I'm aware of that which is why I said although the meat is expensive it's expected seeing as you get what you pay for.
@@Nicole_Ella-Ella you do, or at least you should, get what you pay for. (Disclaimer: I haven't eaten any kind of meat, including fish, since 1987.) I guess it's what I think of as an order of unnecessary for those who aren't Jewish.
@HotVoodooWitch Oh I see. Thank you for your feedback.
It's an interesting video. I live near a kosher kingdom supermarket but never went in. Even though I'm not Jewish, I will have to visit and see how it compares to Bingo. I found your video to be very informative. Yes, the prices seem very high, especially for those who do not require the kosher certifications.
Sonya, you are such a kiddush Hashem. Love your channel and thank you for sharing your life with us
you have more variety than israeli bingo (osher ad). thanks for sharing i enjoy your contetnt and your soothing voice :)
Thank you! 😃
Omg!!
I enjoyed your video very much, You’re very lucky to have such a big and fancy kosher market available to you ❤
Yes, thank you
I live in sc, this store is extremely expensive. Mind you I don’t keep kosher so that might be a premium store due to the restrictions. None the less everything looked delicious and fresh
It's expensive due to the process and supervision that go into making foods kosher. It is an unfortunate reality though that most kosher food is often more expensive than it's "normal"/non-kosher counterpart
@@mars7612But, oh, the comfort and thoughtfulness involved. To be able to serve family, guests, knowing one is elevating a meal imbued with holiness .... such a mitzvah.
It's actually considered a discount grocery store where I live 😂😂😂
Every store should be like this! Thank you for taking us with you! ❤
Wow, TYSM for the tour; I can’t even begin to image the logistics behind minimizing food waste while offering the freshest kosher foods. I’m not Jewish, but I could spend hours just wandering around. Sending you big love from San Diego, CA!
Love the tour of the Kosher Market. I learned a lot . Some of the prices are a little high but many are close to the prices in Phoenix AZ being a transplant from PA. I'm the same on fish I need it cooked. Thank you for the tour 😊17:17
I don't have a Kosher grocery store around me but the stores I did go to I look for kosher items and as for beef and chicken and things like that I do the best I can. My eggs I get off of the Amish I also get a lot of fruits and vegetables off of them also. The Amish lady that runs it she says every time she sees something that has a kosher seal on it she thinks of me and puts it to the side so I can check it out😂😂😂😂 I thought that was so sweet of her. Blessings to you and yours❤❤❤
That’s is very sweet of her. I wish I was closer to their community to get the same.
@SonyasPrep yes she's very sweet she also keeps an eye out for a gluten-free products we have a young woman in our family who has some major health issues she has a dent and bent store so when things come in and they're gluten-free should put them in a certain spot for me to go through she's a very sweet woman
Amazing grocery store. I have never been to an orthodox grocery store, but that place looks really amazing.
Good morning! I just can't bring myself to eat raw fish. It needs to be cooked for me, lol. Thank you for the tour of the Kosher market, it was all so interesting to see. 😄💐
Wonderful video, Sonya! I'm not Jewish but I love learning about the faith and all the interesting things that come with it. Specialty markets are great! Where I live we have a lot of specialty markets from many different cultures. It's always so fun to see what people of different cultures eat. Personally I love Jewish markets because my family is middle eastern and these markets tend to have more of the foods we're used to eating. Please do continue to make more videos about your prepping life and the Jewish community where you live! We love to see it!
LOVE your videos. My family and I LOVE BINGO, the food/produce is ALWAYS fresh and they have so many Israeli products that we love. My husband and I spent the first three years of our marriage in EI and we LOVE buying (and supporting) Israeli products. THANK you for taking the time to make such LOVELY videos
Awww my pleasure, thank you for watching
What an amazing store, I’ve never seen anything like it! I have to drive 100 miles to Los Angeles to get, for example, Rich whip. The prices are only slightly higher, but I’ve never seen a market even in Los Angeles, so stocked with everything you might need.
The prices look expensive to me too
I used to shop at a kosher supermarket in Silver Spring because I am vegan. There are so many wonderful non dairy options - I really miss it. The food prices in this video look comparable to food prices here in Virginia. I wish we had that store here. TFS
I would love a kosher store like this where I live!! Pricey though.
What a gorgeous supermarket! I wanted to buy everything. Hola from Cuernavaca, Mexico
So glad I found you! I’m a devout Christian but my husband’s heritage is Jewish and I’m fascinated with the Orthodox way of life. I’ve been googling a lot to find out the “whys” of the laws and am learning so much and have so many questions! Also, you are an amazing mom and wife and an inspiration to me as well as your calm spirit is as well. God bless (sorry, I don’t know how that would be said the Jewish way)
The "why" is, ultimately, that G-d commands it.
❤️ Thank you for such a sweet message
@@HotVoodooWitch She means more specific "whys" obviously lol Yes, the overarching reason is because G-d commands it but, there are more specific reasons that can be found in the texts and in Jewish history.
@ it was a good question and I'm aware that, e.g., not eating poultry and milk together is a rabbinical decision. Sonya posted that Sephardim don't eat fish and dairy together, which I imagine has a similar basis, and don't even get me started on kitniyot during Pesach. 🤣 But what would be specific scriptural references? Because we're told in Leviticus which animals we can eat, and not to cook a kid in its mother's milk. The Oral Torah provides the specifics and we can conjecture but it still seems to boil down to "G-d told us," i.e. we're not given an explanation.
@@HotVoodooWitch Textual references could be many things. For those of us that are Jewish, it probably just doesn't "jump out" to us or seem all that interesting. But for a non-Jew, I'm sure that looking into some of the commentary in the Talmud or in other texts could be very interesting to get a better idea of why Jews follow the rules that we do.
Thank you for showing us around your local store. It was well-lit, very clean and orderly. Although the sushi price is about what you would pay in the mountains of Vermont, I must say the prices you pay are a lot higher. It's not a small margin, but thats what happens in small, speicalized markets with lots of regulations. Have a great shabbat!
I really enjoyed all the different selections of food and that many are already pre-checked. The headcovers, shabbat light, and warming plate were my favorite! i too have to have my fish cooked for my sushi! Thanks for sharing the store with us!! 💚💙💜
Glad you enjoyed it!
Wow wee! I loved that store! Here in Pittsburgh we have a pretty nice Kosher supermarket but this was outstanding. Thank you
Thank you so much for sharing such an interesting video! Many blessings to you and your family, Sonya! ❤
Dear Sonya, you're not the only one, no raw fish for me!:)
the items on special in the meat section don't seem too pricey, but all the candy and a lot of the fresh produce was so high! other stuff is comparable.... just depends on where you shop. Aldi & Lidl are the go to cheap grocery stores and this place is far higher than those, but a lot is comparable to regular stores. i would love to shop there every now and then.
This tour was great! Many blessings to you and your family.
Thank you, you too!
Great video ! I love rooming in Kosher supermarkets ! We do have two big ones in DC, Kosher Shalom and Motti's, but your Bingo looks much bigger ! A bit expensive however compared to our prices here.
Beautiful market. Loved all of the choices.
Hi Sonya, I was pleased to discover that there is kocher sushi. Maybe I will look for it.❤
It is so funny that sushi has become popular with Orthodox Jews. During most of my lifetime sushi was unknown and Ashkenazic Jews loved gefilte fish and pickled herring which young Jews now tend to dislike.
I live in Israel and it was so interesting to watch this video and see how bingo compares to the Osher Ad store here, cuz it's the same company. The ads look the same with the same colour scheme. Some products the same, some totally different. I think the produce prices are slightly lower here. You have a bigger variety in meats, frozen foods, etc... But BH we have what we need. We also have those hand scanners! Very convenient. It makes the shopping more fun.
This was a very relaxing and calm video. My daughter and I thank you for this and other videos. We went to bingo just this Monday.
I shop at Aldi, Walmart & Sam's Club and these prices are nearly double what I pay for my groceries! But I'm sure the quality is always top notch at this store!
$20 for a rotisserie chicken?!?! Whoa! Sam's Club sells them for $4.98! We have another store just down the road from Sam's that sells them for $3 each (from 4 to 7 pm)!!!
Sam's Club doesn't sell kosher rotisserie chicken. Also, their (and I believe Costco's) rotisserie chickens are loss leaders, i.e. they're sold below cost to bring people into the store. I doubt Bingo has that luxury.
We don’t have a Sam’s club or even a Walmart where I live. Rotisserie chicken is about $9.00 out here. I make my own rotisserie chicken in an air fryer for much cheaper. ❤
I am really wondering if you can put out a video on recipes for the Seder Plate.
Love your videos this one is brilliant
Glad you liked it
I am so jealous. Living here in Alaska, we have NONE of those products. (although I found K for P potato chips in a local super market recently. Big Find!). The hardest thing to get around here is meat. I have to order it from the lower 48. It is outrageously expensive. And the shipping usually doubles the price.
As for the prices you were showing, everything here is more expensive. Most foods have to be brought in by barge. Interestingly, eggs haven't been too bad. There are local suppliers.
My favorite olives are ALL OF THEM!
Fish? I hate fish. My wife loves fish. Here in Alaska Salmon is readily available and inexpensive.
Sonya this was a wonderful video!! I've been hoping for you to do this for so long😂 The prices were much higher on certain products but not terribly out of line with regular supermarkets with. the crazy inflation. Do you need a membership to go here? I live out on Long Island and I would love to visit this store sometime. All the products look so fresh and well cared prepared. Thank you and happy prepping 😁
It’s a free membership. The card is mostly used for self check out.
@ thanks for sharing this with me! I hope to visit some day soon! I’ll say hi if you happen to be there 🤣 I will tell you in person how many of your delicious recipes I’ve made and how much I enjoy your channel 😉
@@SonyasPrepIn our neck of the woods here in Los Angeles County California not really the meat prices are relatively the same priced because for ground beef we pay roughly $20 for three pounds but that is because we get the good kind and for the meats we make sure we get what looks good over what's looks questionable and regardless if it's chicken or red meat(excluding ground beef) I salt the meat to make sure all the blood is taken out because nothing worse then cooking meat with blood.
Our lamb meat is of course expensive but that is because our local market only sells organic and that too I make sure to salt it because I want zero blood on my meat.
The only kosher markets I know that is around here are the one's close to Beverly Hills and in Orange County which their prices are pretty much similar to the bingo market but again these are all metro areas even the city I live in which explains the prices.
Also the kosher eggs are a fair price at your market because at our local market they do sell kosher eggs but holy moly I feel awful for Jewish familys especially those who might be struggling because the kosher eggs at our store cost $15🫨😬🥚🍳🤑😱
@mercedesvelasquez8781 I seen a kosher store in Encino or Tarzana it might be a little cheaper that beverly hills
This was wonderful ❤
Thank you for this lovely trip! I enjoyed everything!
Wouldent mind having this as my local shop even though Ìm not Jewish 😅 Love the selection.
Can you do a video on how you check your food? I don't think I've seen you do that before.
I am a Catholic living in San Antonio. This store is very expensive 😅 . I love your channel. I watch every single one of your videos!!
I appreciate that! Thank you so much for watching
It is expensive, but Kosher products are a little bit more money. We believe that G-d will reward us for paying more for what he wants us to consume
@@alizafuchs4867as a Christian I honestly feel like so many abandoned the ways many centuries ago and started to do whatever because it made life easier.
Their is a butt which is throughout these centuries their have always been a group of followers who follow what the Bible tell us which is to avoid pork, food with blood, to follow the sabbath, eating lamb is the way avoid pork at all cost, try not to cut our hair short try our best to keep it long and the list goes on.
I was one of those that was very much strayed away didn't listen git hooked on drug$ but the Jewish place of worship open their doors to feed me in Beverly Hills along with other things that occured that slowly but definitely brought me back t0 god and got me clean and here am 8years later clean out of trouble and following the old Christian ways so worth it.
This was a very informative video. Thank you for your care in preparing it.
Glad it was helpful!
The deli area with the prepared food looked yummy. You live in a metro area, so I think prices may be higher, and they inspect the food to make sure it is clean and meets kosher, so prices are a bit more. But it must be nice to be able to just shop without checking as much as at a non-kosher store. There is more work and time involved shopping at non-kosher stores because you are reading more labels too.. you can not just put something in the cart. I enjoy shopping to see what different grocery stores have in different parts of the country and ethnic grocery stores, so I found this interesting. I would imagine that for an observant Jewish person/family to live in an area with less of a Jewish population, it is more difficult to find needed resources such as kosher foods.
Hi Sonya. I zoomed in on the meat/fish prices. Very similar prices to our regular supermarkets in Dallas. I mostly buy Kosher meat as I prefer the taste and not a huge difference in price.
Your prices for general grocery seem a little higher. I tend to shop in ethnic grocery stores for my produce which is much cheaper and fresher.
I cook from scratch so cant comment on the ready made prices.
Love your channel ❤️
Hugs British Kate in 🇺🇸
Thanks for the input
I love videos like this! well, I love all your videos... :)
Fascinating. I love looking at different grocery stores. The food looked amazing and I would shop there even though I am not jewish. Thank you for sharing this with us.
I appreciate to know about the food items. I am a Christian with many Jewish friends who come to visit me. I like to have the correct foods for them. Also try to keep separate dishes and cooking pots. Everyone feels comfortable and welcome. When someone objects to my friends. I joke. Last time I checked we have the same God. I learn so much from my Jewish friends. We celebrate Shabbat togather.
That’s beautiful
I'm a trained singer and I love to attend the post-Ephiphany service at Saint Thomas Fifth Avenue; they're kind of a slice of the mother country in Midtown Manhattan and have a choir school for boys. Their all-male choir is world class. Anyhow, I got into a conversation with one of the ushers and mentioned that I'm Jewish. He extended his hand and when I took it to shake, he kissed it! He told me what an honor it was to have me, to which I jokingly responded "You're not getting my soul!" He said "No no no" and was just SO nice. A security guard was standing at the back, a big Latino guy in a suit, and he beckoned me over. He told me that he'd overheard us talking and that his wife, and hence his children, are Jewish. He said "The way I figure it, you can take the subway to the Bronx, you can take the bus, or you can drive--you're still going to the Bronx. That's the way I feel about religion."
And you know, I think he had a point. 🙂
That's a really nice supermarket. I would love to go shopping there.
That’s a really nice supermarket! So handy for you - glad you have this reliable backup for when the unexpected happens!
Very interesting and informative. Thank you for sharing 😃
Wow! Nice store. What a wonderful selection of kosher items!
Love it!!!
Thank you for sharing !😊
Always love your videos! Visited a kosher grocery store in my area yesterday and it does not have nearly as many things as the one you just showed. Fantastic! Shavua Tov - Hope your week goes smoothly.✡️😃
What an incredible store! I only wish there was one where I live and that an Orthodox friend could take me shopping!
Thank you for a lovely tour, very interesting 😊
Sonya, I am Envy, I do not have a supermarket like this one. We have small stores and the prices are golden nuggets per item. I would love to visit in one of this stores one day.
We only have Grove. I wish Bingo would open!!!! That store looks absolutely amazing!!! 🤩
Hello Sonya, wow, this store is amazing, you have such a big variety of everything. We don't have half as much here in England. I think our prices are cheaper on a lot of food. Thanks for this video it was an eye-opener to see that there really is such a variety of kosher foods. Lol ❤️
Thank you for sharing.
I love those acai bowls!
Very nice. I was just at Brooklyn Bingo yesterday for eggs (iykyk), especially since Pesach is coming. I've always felt that it's a nice size store. But seeing the new one makes me think maybe I should be going there. Spacious aisles and everything.
It's easy to get used to places like Bingo, to be able to get lots of things you need for Shabbat and yom tov in one place, and for a good price.
Thank you for sharing. Now let's get ready for Pesach. 😛
We live on the north shore of Long Island and go to the Bingo in Brooklyn when we can get there. They have wonderful meat and produce!
Wow amazing , it makes life so easy this supermarket
i live in upstate ny and your meat prices are way higher. the meat also looks cleaner and much fresher than ours.
So jealous! Less and less kosher options where I live and no kosher restaurants
Beautiful products
This video was very interesting and fun. The meat prices were pretty close in comparison to buying grass-fed, humanely sourced beef here in the Montana area.
Thank you for taking us on this shopping trip. What a unique experience for me 😊
Following you from Australia, Sonya. Loved this video. Would love to spend an entire week in that Bingo supermarket.
That market is so much larger than the ones I go to! And much less crowded, lol. I would definitely make the trip if a Bingo opened in my county. I'm in a big city, and the beef and chicken prices were a little higher than at a "regular" supermarket, but the salmon was a couple of dollars less per pound.
Such a beautiful grocery store.
Great video.
Totally interesting TY
Prices are great! Especially for kosher meat.
I live in France ❤lots of choice in your supermarket ❤
