      @davidmacdonald1695 to each their own. All I know is in a recent interview with Pagie. He said Ritchie Blackmore could blow the doors of him live and improvising. Ritchie is a better lead guitarist. My guys are Hendrix Beck Van Halen and Blackmore in that order. If you got Pagie in front of him, talk to Pagie, not me. OK, I stand corrected top 4 in the world in his day. Rock on 🤘

    Rainbow blew away REO, Scorpions, Sammy Hagar, 707 at Colorado Sunday #2(1983?). I remember Blackmore whipping his Strat above his head, round and round by the strap. The feedback coming from the amps was tremendous. He played with such ease. No sweat.

    Live versions can be different...
    What strikes me is the quality of the Mini Moog solo. It's perfect and almost just like on the album. Too bad David Rosenthal only gets the spotlight for 5 seconds after 2:55 even if the solo starts at 2:38 and is getting very flashy after 2:44. All the musicians should get the recognition they deserve.

    It's a little thing called sarcasm. I"m a drummer and we played this song live so I know how difficult it is at regular speed let alone at this break neck pace they are playing it at here. Blackmore was always worried about being the fastest guy on the planet. I think it hurt his playing a lot live.

    • @humanbeing2420
      @humanbeing2420 2 года назад +1

      Blackmore had clearly started losing his hair in the early 70's, but here he has a big thick mop of black hair. And it stayed exactly like that for the next 40 years. No gray hairs at all - jet black. So its very obviously a wig.

    • @Nghilifa
      @Nghilifa 2 года назад +1

    Dear Layla... so kind and fine. First of all, sorry for my English. How old are you? I think you can't imagine how long time I listen to this kind of music. JLT was the third Rainbow singer, after the FANTASTIC Ronnie James Dio and the excellent Graham Bonnet. He was Deep Purple singer to in Slaves and Masters album in 1990... the worst DP album ever. During the last Rainbow tour in 1984 he was supported by two back vocalists Lin Robinson and Dee Beale! That's all, Folks! I wish you well...

    • @yukibird0
